[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-178) Next search is waiting previous search

Christian Lenz created NETBEANS-178:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Next search is waiting previous search
                 Key: NETBEANS-178
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-178
             Project: NetBeans
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: utilities - Search
    Affects Versions: Next
            Reporter: Christian Lenz

I think this feature was removed some releases ago, I think so, beacuse I was wondering, that my second search that I started, is waiting that the previous search ends before it will start the second search and the next one and the next one.

So if this was changed with a good reason, I can understand it, because it can cause problems and so on, but it should be added again, BUT with an option. Such features shouldn't be removed or added by default, but with an option. Default will be -> wait until the previous search is finish to start the next one and the option says -> make parallel searches, no waiting.

If you have a big code base and you search inside of this and you will start another search, you have to wait for the first one. This is a pain in the ass. So parallel searches should be possible again, if they were there before, but with an option to choose, yes or no.

Cheers

Chris
