here's a patch.  I've tested it with TestDomainSocket,TestShortCircuitLocalRead,TestParallelShortCircuitRead,TestParallelRead,TestPersistBlocks,TestPeerCache,TestFileInputStreamCache,TestParallelUnixDomainRead,TestParallelShortCircuitReadNoChecksum,TestBlockReaderLocal,TestBlockReaderLocalLegacy
