cloudmonkey and ldap - auth error
Hello, guys!
I'm trying to enable LDAP via cloudmonkey.
Everything is ok until i try to set ldap.bind.password setting
When i call:
cloudmonkey updateConfiguration name=ldap.bind.password value="password*"
i am getting an error:
Error 401 Authentication error
errorcode = 401
errortext = unable to verify user credentials and/or request signature
uuidList:
if i use any other password, without symbol '*' everything works properly,
for example:
cloudmonkey updateConfiguration name=ldap.bind.password value="password"
works
any ideas?

If that's the issue open a bug with more details and assign it to me or

As a followup to this (just thinking about it) I’m wondering if this is
the same issue that I reported a while back, where it’s not really
cloudmonkey that has the issue - but rather the API. In my situation, any
password with ‘<‘ or ‘>’ in it got url-encoded, causing the password check
to fail…

Okay I see the single quotes did not work for you as well. Can you try
to remove CloudMonkey, update pip to the latest version and try
re-installing with:
pip install --upgrade cloudmonkey
Are you able to reproduce this on a different CentOS machine?

I tested on CentOS6, it works for me. Can you try with single quotes as
on most environments double quoted strings are evaluated by shells.
Try this:
cloudmonkey update configuration name=ldap.bind.password value='password*'

Can you share which version of CloudMonkey you’re running, on which OS and which shell are you using to do this?
If you run this in interpreter mode (instead of running on your shell), do you get the same result?
