Using synapse as a proxy for HTTPS + BasicAuthentication

Hi All,

I am using Synapse as a proxy web service that needs to authenticate the Basic HTTP authentication credentials sent by the client.

I got the solution for the same in the below thread (January 2007) but it says that it is not possible to use Basic authentication with HTTPS.

Has this feature been introduced now in Synapse? If so, is the procedure for authentication same for both HTTP and HTTPS?
