Dictionaries installed using Extension Manager do not appear ticketed when
using Tools-Language or Format-Character. This worked well in 4.1.6
As a consequence Spelling is not working, which makes Writer largely unusable

I could solve my problem by installing "hunspell" via ANPM.

Since this was a missing library from the base system, there is nothing we can
do in our code. Closing it now.

Confirmed on ArcaOS 5 with AOO 4.1.7.
I tested with a fresh AOO profile.
There were no changes in this respect between 4.1.6 and 4.1.7.
Seems to be OS/2 only.

Remember that once extension installed, you must restart OpenOffice to achieve
the process.
Could you confirm the operating system used?
Could you provide which extension has been installed?
