Would it be a bad idea to use log4j2 in maven while working on log4j2?
https://garygregory.wordpress.com/2015/03/23/watch-maven-in-color/
I set up my work computer to use that, and I like it, and I was thinking
about adding it to my own computer, but I use this one to work on log4j.
I'm assuming maven uses some neat ClassLoader isolation to prevent any
issues, but I wasn't sure. Has anyone else tried this? Maybe you, Gary? ;)

That's how I set it up, too.
