Parse xml string or stream

Hi all,

I am fairly new to xerces and i have been able to open a file from disk and manipulate it but i am having trouble on opening a stream and parsing it.  I am using the DOMBuilder interface right now.   If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.
