If you do search and replace in a notebook then the changes are not pushed to the server. For example, if you refresh the page then the changes will be gone. Furthermore if you try to run a cell then it will run using the old version.

I have verified that the websocket connection does not send a message and that the server logs do not show a note saving event.

This essentially makes search and replace useless since you need to manually change every cell that was touched to trigger a server sync.
