logfile Parser API ?

Hello,

is there any API to parse the log4j generated logs for
further analysing ? I read about Chainsaw but i didnt
saw any specific API for parsing text files.

I've created a very simple and not fail proof parser
which uses regular expressions and returns a List of
LogEntry objects (with getLogMessage() getLogLevel()
getDate() etc).

Is there a current implementation which would analyse
the original log4j XML Configuration (patterns etc)
and additionally would parse a text log file ? Maybe
with some filtering too ?
