    Resolution: Won't Do

There has been no activity on this issue for 2.5 years.
In the meantime CDH 6.1 has been EOLed, and current Cloudera products already include Phoenix.
The actual problems and errors in this and the linked tickets are related to API changes in HBase 2 , which are already handled on the master / 5.1 branches.
