   @schenksj I've been looking into the native Iceberg scan I/O path and noticed that Iceberg/OpenDAL is intentionally out of scope for this PR.
   
   I'm interested in working on the Iceberg side as part of the broader scan I/O acceleration work in #4695. I was thinking of starting with FileIO reuse, metadata caching, and I/O metrics, and later looking at integration with the block cache and cache affinity work here if this direction lands.
   
   Are you planning to cover the Iceberg side after this PR, or would this be open for me to pick up?
