[jira] [Commented] (RATIS-5) Setup website

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RATIS-5?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16274318#comment-16274318 ]

Elek, Marton commented on RATIS-5:
----------------------------------

1. I improved the site plan:

The latest version can be checked here: https://elek.github.io/ratis-site/
And the source is available at RATIS-5 branch

(Logo is also included in the header)

2. I think the current version could be published on the site, so I will set to status to patch available even if there is no patch: the commit should be added to a separated branch.

I propose the following structure:

 * commit the site to a separated branch (asf-site-source)
 * create a separated branch and commit the rendered version (asf-site)
 * ask ASF infra to use the second branch as the source of the site (https://blogs.apache.org/infra/entry/git_based_websites_available)
 * create a jenkins job to automatically render site from asf-site-source -> to asf-site branch with hugo

3. I would be happy to do the steps in 2.) but first I would like to get multiple LGTM and consensus about the site could be published. ([~anu] has already mentioned some improvements).

If you have any suggestions/improvements, please

 1. Commit it directly to RATIS-5 branch
 2. OR just comment your suggestions here and I will be happy to apply it to the source.

> A project website is needed. Possibly, we can use bootstrap and fork already existing syles.
