[jira] [Created] (YARN-11999) Fix race in TestLogAggregationService when checking application log directory deletion

Shilun Fan created YARN-11999:
---------------------------------

             Summary: Fix race in TestLogAggregationService when checking application log directory deletion
                 Key: YARN-11999
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-11999
             Project: Hadoop YARN
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 3.5.1, 3.6.0
            Reporter: Shilun Fan
            Assignee: Shilun Fan

TestLogAggregationService.testLocalFileDeletionAfterUpload can fail because verifyLocalFileDeletion() checks the application log directory before its asynchronous deletion has completed.

The helper waits for individual log files to disappear, then immediately asserts that the application log directory no longer exists.

However, DeletionService schedules file and directory deletion asynchronously.

Completion of the individual file deletions does not guarantee completion of the application directory deletion.

Observed failure:
TestLogAggregationService.testLocalFileDeletionAfterUpload -> verifyLocalFileDeletion()
Directory [...] was not deleted ==> expected: <false> but was: <true>
