Mail SPAM Problem Re: [PMC:Vote] Rename Avalon-Cornerstone

Hi,

I got this Mail every time again and again. So now I have this Mail 1000
time :-(
Is this a problem of the avalon Mailserver ? Does others have the same
problem?

Thanks,

Volker

+1 Yes!

Yes, other people have the problem too (though not me for some reason).
It's being investigated.

Rest assured that Nicola is probably not actually *trying* to spam us.

The university maybe has some kind of spam filter active. Getting
1000+ messages with the same subject and same content to one person
will probably trigger it in that case.

It's solved. Brian at collab.net deleted a couple of thousand messages
in the queue, and as soon as Nicola manages to go through the therapy
sessions he'll need after a traumatizing event such as this he'll
probably
(a) switch mail program and (b) tell us what happened.

/LS

(I got 1200 messages, BTW, in case anyone wants to compare.)

The reason neither GMANE nor Leo Simons saw this is probably a
decent spam filter in action. 1000+ messages with the same
subject and same content seems like something a spam filter
would guard against.

Anyway, the flood stopped: Brian at collab.net deleted a couple
of thousand messages from the queue, and last I heard Nicola has
fixed his mail client.

I'm reading the list via GMANE and they did not have that problem, only
one Mail from Nicola.
