OpenOffice 4.0.1 crashing and can't recover files
Hello,
I am disgusted with how OpenOffice 4.0.1 continues to crash and will not recover a certain document. I have tried recover a certain file four times.
But after each supposed sucessful recovery OpenOffice hangs ("Not Responding") and then I am unable to open the .odt file.
I uninstalled both OpenOffice and Java and shut down PC , restarted and installed both apps PC but nothing works.
Please advise, thanks!
Patty

Hi Patty,
First you need to tell us which version of what OS (Operating System -
eg. Linux, Mac, Solaris, Windows, etc.) you are using. Otherwise we can
only make wild guesses about the possible cause and solution for your
issue. However, I will suggest a couple of things you could investigate:
There is an existing "lock" file for the specific document you are
trying to open: See:
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=68503
System crash corrupted your "User Profile": See:

You are not subscribed to this list, so please only reply to
users@openoffice.apache.org not directly to me or other individual list
subscribers.
