Tomcat on FreeBSD

Has anyone installed Tomcat on FreeBSD? If so, how did you set it up?

I have FreeBSD 3.4 with Apache 1.3.9. The 1.1.8 JDK seems to not work with
TomCat 3.1.

hiya,

you have to use the linux-jdk port, with linux emulation enabled.
also consider to upgrade to freebsd >=4.0 cause it has a pretty
much improved linux emulator.

i'm currently writing on a jetspeed installation primer
including a tomcat chapter.

cause i used a freebsd box while writing this primer
it should be especially useful for you but even though
for others who are not using unix/linux like systems.
