example passing object that references a Vector

I'm looking for an example where a SOAP client passes an object that holds a
reference to a Vector.
If I understand correctly, Apache SOAP can encode Vectors automatically.
It isn't working for me so I'm hoping that an example will show me what I'm
doing wrong.
