Hi all,
I want to install hbase_0.2.1 on hadoop_0.19.0, but there are
something wrong happened, so I ask for some help. Can someone tell me

Hi St.Ack,

it turned out there was an old process trying to connect to the master
causing the OutOfMemory Error. (it was still using hbase 0.18.1).
I'm running the trunk version, and I will make some stress testing. I
upgraded to hadoop 0.19.1 because hbase 0.18 and hadoop 0.18.1 were always
getting unresponsive after a certain amount of time and use.

Ma qiang,
You need to compile the version from the trunk with ant to use it with
hadoop 0.19.1

No, you cannot.

Hadoop changed some filesystem constants, so there will be
linkage exceptions thrown by the classloader.

Are you doing a bulk upload of small cells? If so, can you move to
hbase TRUNK? We're making some progress on this issue at the moment
(see HBASE-900).

Otherwise, how many regions? How big is your cluster, what else is
running on it and how much heap have you given hbase?

Thanks,

St.Ack

Hi Thibaut,

If you would like to run HBase trunk on Hadoop 0.18, you
should check out from this branch and build it:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/hadoop/hbase/branches/0.19_on_hadoop_0.18

I maintain this branch. It is up to date.

Hi Andy,

could you please sent me the jar you built for hadoop 0.19. I tried using
the version from the trunk, but it keeps crashing on me.

Hi,

The short answer is you cannot run HBase 0.2.1 on
Hadoop 0.19.0.

I can help you to run HBase 0.18 on Hadoop 0.19, but not
any earlier version.
