can anyone help with this bug??
hi guys,
i've been using apache soap 2.0 successfully for several months,
and then today it stopped working! it seems to be some kind of
CLASSPATH problem. i spent the last hour trying to figure it out,
and then finally decided to post here in desparation.
as you can see, when i run tomcat, the C:\soap-2_0\lib\soap.jar
is in the CLASSPATH, no problem. i've checked that it's on the
disk, and examined its contents with winzip, and there doesn't
seem to be any kind of corruption.
when i go to http://localhost:8080/soap and select the admin
page, then click on the DEPLOY page, tomcat attempts to compile
the .jsp. unfortunately, it can't find any of the apache soap packages
and i get a runtime error from the compiler.
i am at a loss. any help is much appreciated!

ok, i figured it out.
apparently i left a space after one of the ; in my CLASSPATH.
i find it funny that even in this modern day, a piece of software
can stop working because of a measely space.
incidentally, the #1 cause of user error from developers
using Apache SOAP in my IBM web services column is that they
accidentally put a trailing space at the end of the class name
or bean serializer name in the deployment form.
i recommend that you update the code and put a trimBlanks()
in their somewhere!
