It's been identified within a [mailing list thread|http://www.mail-archive.com/user%40gora.apache.org/msg00515.html] that we are probably doing something wrong within HBase which means we are executing too many deletes. 
[~timrobertson100] has mentioned that we remove excess deletes and monitor behavior. This issue should address that.
