New release of release plugin

Hi,
as the last release of the m-release-plugin (3.0.0-M2) failed due to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MRELEASE-1042 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MRELEASE-1042> and a PR has been provided with a fix for quite some time now (https://github.com/apache/maven-release/pull/56 <https://github.com/apache/maven-release/pull/56>) without any review I am wondering if a new 3.0.0-M2 or M3 can soon be released (after review of https://github.com/apache/maven-release/pull/56 <https://github.com/apache/maven-release/pull/56> of course)
A lot of relevant issues have been fixed compared to 3.0.0-M1 (https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/MRELEASE/versions/12348049 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/MRELEASE/versions/12348049>) so it would be great to have a new release soon.

TIA
Konrad

I have added a comment to the PR.
Robert also did and the contributor is waiting for Robert's feedback
