[jira] [Created] (WOOKIE-198) Standalone binary distribution does not mention 3rd party license library licenses

Standalone binary distribution does not mention 3rd party license library licenses
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: WOOKIE-198
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WOOKIE-198
             Project: Wookie
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Build and Distributions
    Affects Versions: 0.9.0
            Reporter: Luciano Resende
            Priority: Blocker

The standalone distribution ships the following jars which are not mentioned in the License

activation-1.1.jar - COMMON DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION LICENSE (CDDL) Version 1.0
ant-1.6.5.jar ??
commons-dbcp-1.2.2.jar ??
commons-pool-1.3.jar ??
core-3.1.1.jar ??
derby-10.4.2.0.jar - Apache License - OK
geronimo-spec-jta-1.0.1B-rc4.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-naming-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-plus-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-util-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jsp-2.1-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jsp-api-2.1-6.1.3.jar ???
mail-1.4.jar - COMMON DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION LICENSE (CDDL) Version 1.0
servlet-api-2.5-6.1.3.jar - ??
servlet-api-2.5.jar - ??

The best option is to group the jars with it's respective license and list them explicitly, this allows future automation to see if all the jars are mentioned in the license, see example :

https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/photark/trunk/distribution/src/main/release/bin/LICENSE

[jira] [Commented] (WOOKIE-198) Standalone binary distribution does not mention 3rd party license library licenses

Ross Gardler commented on WOOKIE-198:
-------------------------------------

In reviewing RC2 I still cannot find any licence reference for the following jars:

activation-1.1.jar - COMMON DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION LICENSE (CDDL) Version 1.0
commons-dbcp-1.2.2.jar ??
jsp-api-2.1-6.1.3.jar ???

The following are all under the Apache license and so don't really need an explicit mention, but without it we need to check on each release. The goal is to get this release as clearly documented as possible so that future releases are easier.

commons-pool-1.3.jar ??
derby-10.4.2.0.jar - Apache License - OK
geronimo-spec-jta-1.0.1B-rc4.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-naming-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-plus-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jetty-util-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
jsp-2.1-6.1.3.jar - Apache License - OK
