As for the distance calculations, I used this primitive script:
https://github.com/mkasenberg/PyChannelSounding/blob/b4985406347957b24dd913280a6b2c7a5d11143a/distance.py#L71-L85
It works pretty well once you have the hardware properly calibrated.
As for implementation in C, I don't have any plans for that at the moment.
