如何理解在event time语义下使用processing time语义下的操作符

在flink文档中的 Streaming-Event time-Overview
解释了processing time / event time / ingestion time的概念。
其中在解释 event time 概念时，其最后一句话：
Note that sometimes when event time programs are processing live data in real-time, they will use some processing timeoperations in order to guarantee that they are progressing in a timely fashion.我的理解是：在event time语义下处理实时数据时，为了处理的及时性，会使用一下 processing time 语义下的操作符。我的问题在于：1.我的理解是否正确？2.如何理解这句话？3.能否举个例子说明以下？
