I think this is a good idea. But we must take into account that there may not 
be an internet connection configured at package install time (e.g. when 
installing from cd). Another thing would be mass-installations from images: you 
want to update at first usage and not at image creation time.

So I propose to create a "firstrun" script which is run by the init script if 
some conditions are met (e.g. no update installed or some file touched).
