[~frm] That looks much better now, thanks a lot. I am still missing though the information how paths can be specified (e.g. in {{repository.home}} or {{path}}
# are relative paths supported, if yes, to what are they supposed to be relative?
# are placeholders supported, if yes, which placeholders?

In addition the information in {{customBlobStore}} should be extended.
Currently it says either 
bq. Determines if this Node Store is supposed to use a custom Blob Store.
or for `org.apache.jackrabbit.oak.plugins.segment.SegmentNodeStoreService`
bq. Determines if this Node Store needs a Blob Store.
In both cases it should be explicitly mentioned what happens in case the value is set to `false`. I guess in both cases the blobs are then stored in the tars itself.
