[jira] [Created] (KAFKA-20560) Support non-blocking DeleteRecordsRequest
Chia-Ping Tsai created KAFKA-20560:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Support non-blocking DeleteRecordsRequest
Key: KAFKA-20560
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-20560
Project: Kafka
Issue Type: New Feature
Reporter: Chia-Ping Tsai
Assignee: Chia-Ping Tsai
Currently, DeleteRecords blocks until all in-sync replicas (ISR) advance the low watermark. This means a single slow follower can stall the request, and users can't distinguish the root cause from the timeout. If users set timeout=0 to simulate a non-blocking request, the ExpiresPerSec metric will be increased unintentionally.
