Master/slave and topic

Lets say that I have a shared storage master/slave that has a topic producer
and non-durable topic consumers.

Will the messages be stored in the shared storage (note: no the temp
storage)? Will the messages be recovered when ActiveMQ switches to the
slave?

No they will not be stored if not using any durable subscribers. Any
pending messages would be lost on master-slave failover.
