preparing for shindig 3.0.0

I'd like to get a beta build of shindig 3.0.0 ready soon.

We've gone quite some time on trunk without a release and this would give
people a target they can start tracking.

It will also flesh out the release process so I can document it better for
the 2.0.x maintainers that will come on board soon.

Objections?

My hope is that this gives us the focus to resolve some of these thorny
questions.

So Han -- any progress on Guice 3.0?
