Both the Jakarta PMC or the board can guide folks to the right people if
there is strong community consensus that this is a good thing to happen
under the Apache banner.

Well, we have contacts at Sun through JCP and other channels.

If there are no objections, I'll explore this with them. Unless, of 
course, someone already has. Sun wanting to do this would seem to be 
required before anything else can really happen. 8^)
