Follow up question

I forgot to ask a follow up question. Does SVN still need to be compilied
against the head of httpd-2.0 and APR?

Yup. httpd 2.0.41 is in the process of being released. Once that is done,
then we'll start telling people "2.0.41 or later". But *today*, you must use
the CVS copy of httpd. 2.0.40 is incompatible.
