[Axis2] Deployment : module hot deployment
Hi all;
In Axis2 we are going to provide service hot deployment and J2EE like deployment. At the summit which was held in Sri Lanka couple of month ago we discussed about J2EE like deployment for module too. and I want to know that are we going to provide hot deployment feature for module too. And my idea is we should provide hot deployment feature for module , boz as an use case let say
we want to deploy a service that refer to a module which is not deployed yet , in that situation we really need to have the hot deployment feature for module too.
Thanks
Deepal

I'd say that module deployment should be "hot" in the sense that they
are discovered and loaded at startup time. I personally don't think
its very necessary to allow modules to be added after the server has
started. Also, we need to decide whether we're going to allow per-user
modules .. my suggestion is that for now we only allow "system-wide"
modules (as found in the modules/ dir of the server) and maybe consider
doing something more elaborate in the future.
If we do allow per-user then we do need hot deployment of modules, at
least as far as the engine is concerned. But for the immediate future I
suggest we support only startup time module deployment.
Sanjiva.
