[Discussion] custom File defintion vs Standardized File definition

Hello all,

In Issue 127105 I ended up in an interesting Discussion:

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127105

The Issue:
For Tables OO Familly Products export none HTML standardized Tags. These Tags are irrelevant to Browsers,
So People who use OO as a simple HTML Designer, will end up to have Webside exporting these.

However if they change the Websides and someone imports the result again to OO, we are getting dissatisfactory results.

I think it is independent of import vector (File or Copy&paste), behaviour is the same.
This is not only limited to HTML, looking at MS Word and LO with their ODT implementation we have it there too.

I would like to discuss what our strategy should be. Maybe also in which direction we should head.
I would like to discuss this in 2 ways. 1st what is the dream solution, and what is our practical solution?

Ignoring the Problem is in my opinion not a good option at all.

What do you think?

All the best
Peter
