   ## Current state
   
   `kafka` has mock-based unit tests only (`KafkaAbstractSourceTest`, `KafkaAbstractSinkTest`, ...) — no test exercises a real broker.
   
   ## Proposal
   
   Add a Testcontainers-based integration test using the existing `testcontainers-kafka` catalog entry: produce with the sink and consume with the source against a real Kafka container, covering schema/header round-trips (relevant to the in-flight #36).
   
   _Part of an integration-test coverage sweep of all connector modules._
