Help:communication between portlet and servlet.

Hi,guys,
I deployed a portlet(ABC) under Jetspeed portal, its response is re-direct
the
user to access another servlet(DEF), servlet(DEF) also is on the
application server.

If I want to transimt some data in servlet(DEF) to portlet(ABC), what
mechanism
can I use? Thanks in advance.
