[jira] [Commented] (HBASE-4299) Upgrade to Avro 1.5.3 & use Avro Maven plugin to generate Avro classes

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-4299?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13096397#comment-13096397 ]

Todd Lipcon commented on HBASE-4299:
------------------------------------

The tree in {{target/generated-sources}} is a little strange after this patch:

{noformat}
todd@todd-w510:~/svn/hbase-trunk$ ls target/generated-sources/
avro  org
todd@todd-w510:~/svn/hbase-trunk$ ls target/generated-sources/avro/
org
{noformat}

Is this right? Why do we have one generated src dir directly in generated-sources but the avro stuff inside an avro subdir?

> Besides updating to the latest Avro, the generated Avro files should be generated by the build (using the Avro Maven plugin)
