[Bug 120850] New: mime type icons for microsoft office documents not distinguishable

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120850

          Priority: P3
            Bug ID: 120850
          Assignee: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org
Summary: mime type icons for microsoft office documents not
                    distinguishable
          Severity: normal
        Issue Type: DEFECT
    Classification: Application
                OS: All
          Reporter: spinnekop@gmail.com
          Hardware: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: AOO 3.4.1
         Component: ui
           Product: installation

Micosoft office file type icons are neither left as MS icons or changed to OOO
icons but changed to B&W icons that are indistinguishable from one another. If
you chose to use OOO as default program it should change the icon to OOO or
leave as MS please. I have just manually changed all my mime type icons using
"Default Program Editor" so I can distinguish between a doc, xls and ppt.

Closing issue due to reporter's inactivity.

@reporter:
Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find out that the problem still
exists in the latest public release of AOO and if you can provide requested
additional information. We need a test kit (Attachment here in the Bug report)
and a detailed step by step instruction how to reproduce your problem, for
details please see <http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/QA/HowToFileIssue>

I am assigning this as a "Feature Request". I agree that the user should
know/have input, if their icons are going to be changed.

The other problem seems to be that these icons are then changed to the
Monochrome Icon layout. I have found another similar bug Bug 121840. I will let
it be tracked there.

Can you provide more details.

Ie. Version of OS, Versions of Openoffice or Libre office installed (and that
have been installed), etc.

Currently I am not sure whether I understand intention of this bug report. What
is a mime type icon? Where is that icon visible?

If we are talking about icons shown in WIN File Explorer left from File name, I
think the have nothing to do with document mime type, but with application what
will open that document after double click on it.

This Bug appears to be related to Bug 121840. Possible that the icons are
changed to Monochromatic icons.
