DeltaSpike Logo Sketches
Hello,
I’m attaching some logo sketches I made for DeltaSpike. I’m not sure who among those should be receiving these. Is it everyone or just a few?
Anyway, I looked up some other logos that use the word “Delta” and found them to be similar in a lot of cases – usually a triangle emblem next to the company/org. name or a triangle underneath or as a base shape. I thought that was little boring so I tried to avoid that kind of look in most cases or at least avoided being to specific about using a “delta” symbol.
If there’s any common thread among all of these, it’s that they tilt toward “angularity” – straight lines and triangle shapes, though they could also have some dimensional depth added in a more refined version. I realize that some are perhaps a bit too wild (I’m thinking of the one called “Geometric” here), but I prefer to try several different tacts and include them to get everyone’s sense of what’s working or not working. I’m hoping I’m at least one or two good ideas in with this batch. Each attached graphic includes a description.
Also, please bear in mind that these are “rough” sketches, and would need more refinement with regard to alignment and edges.
I missed Gerhard's email yesterday, but I think one or two of the sketches included might somehow cover his thoughts.

so far i haven't found one i like >a lot< (i still like the idea of [1]).
if i've to choose one, i would tend to skinny #1, because it's simple and
clean.

I really like the 'Geometric'
Maybe round the corners of the background, but that's it
We could also use the 'delta' sign as a short logo...

Actually, now that you point that out, I see it too. I’ll see if I can’t adjust that a bit.

Geometric works best for me too, especially with the outer glow, it has
the best energy. Though, it doesn't seem to work that well with the thin
lines.
The Skinny ones are nice too, but look a little too formal, IMHO. Like
for a law office.
Also, the Emblems, specifically the black-red one has something great
going on.
However, in Geometric and Emblems, I can't help but see the "lightning
bolt S" as the Schutzstaffel kind of S.

I’m glad to hear there are some that are liked. Perhaps I could combine a couple – take “Skinn Avenir” and the second one in “Emblems” and use together?

I like Skinny Avenir and Emblems, personally. If Emblems, it's the second
one (bolt in the middle)
