    Changes look good, but did you skip the `CombiningUnilateralSortMerger` on purpose?
    
    It's hard to tell, because the `handleLargeRecords` argument was existing before your changes, but it was not configurable. The `CombiningUnilateralSortMerger` always sets `handleLargeRecords` to `true`.
