Table of Contents

Hi, all.

I am a newbe using FOP and I wondering if there is an easy way to get rid of
the "Table of Contents" in the output PDF. It is pretty good, but in documents
that has only a few pages it doesn't fit.

Best regards.

Hi,

I tried that already and get no lucky. The approach I am using now is
exporting my documents to latex and using MikTeX to generate the final PDF.
This is not perfect, but I can edit the TEX file to create a better looking
PDF.

Currently I'm using DocUtils with reStructuredText markup. I like it. But no
more than ASCIIDOC and FOP. These two tools are very good to create and keep
documentation in a basic simple text format. These tools let me use my
favorite editor in this documentations (that is VIM).

Thanks a lot.

If you're using docbook-xsl, it may be possible to influence the
appearance of the TOC by means of an XSLT parameter. I'd ask around on
docbook's user-list, to be sure.

Thank you, Andreas.

I am currently using docbook-xsl tool set to generate the FO file. Change the
XSL will be too much hard work. I will try another approach.

Best Regards.

FOP does not produce a table of contents out of the blue.
If you're using semantic XML with a stylesheet, then your issue can
most likely be solved by changing the stylesheet to avoid producing
the FO that corresponds to that part of the document.
