Can't get Axis-C sample apps to work: Apache process dies.

I'm trying to get the samples to run on an installation done with
apache_2.0.47-win32-x86-no_ssl and axis-c-win32-current-bin 09-Jul-2004
.

What I get is the following:

The installation guide says "To run this sample client applications you
need to have the path to libexapt.dll in the "PATH" environment variable
...". I couldn't find this DLL anywhere, so it's definitely not in the
path. What is this DLL, and where can I get it (if that's the source of
my problem)?
