nginx goes open core
To me, this seems like a continued opportunity for httpd
to excel...

It means they have a company that provides support and closed-source
modules.
Kind of like:
- MySQL <http://www.mysql.com/products/>
- Magento<http://www.magentocommerce.com/product/overview-compare?icid=topnav>
- SugarCRM <http://www.sugarcrm.com/download>
- IntelliJ IDEA <http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/free_java_ide.html>
- WebSphere<http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/us/en/appserv-wasce/>
You get the idea...

Most features (the core) open source, special sauce in the commercial version.
Cheers

Advanced Features of NGINX Plus Include:
• Application Health Checking
Would be interesting to know exactly what that means :)
• Commercial-Grade Activity Monitoring
mod_status
• Advanced Load Balancing
mod_proxy_balancer
• Dynamic On-The-Fly Reconfiguration
For reverse proxies, we got that.
• Extended Logging Capabilities
Like ours?
• High Availability Setup
"setup"?
• Adaptive Media Streaming
aka: Partnership Opportunities
:)
I wish 'em luck, but I could also educate them a bit about
a little company called Covalent ;)

Right, but that's old-ish news. I thought maybe Jim was refering to
nxinx plus [1][2] and failed to make the connection to open core there.
