[jira] [Created] (MCOMPILER-378) "release version not supported" error message

Ewa Śliwińska created MCOMPILER-378:
---------------------------------------

Summary: "release version not supported" error message
                 Key: MCOMPILER-378
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MCOMPILER-378
             Project: Maven Compiler Plugin
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Ewa Śliwińska

When the JAVA_HOME is set to one of prior JDKs, the title error message is returned.

It is confusing, because it suggests newer Java version is in fact not supported (I even thought it is the case for Java 12 - but then had problems with finding information about correct values for this tag), and what is really happening is that current compiler cannot use it.

Furthermore, I checked and for example version 20 raises this error, when 200 - not.
It's not clear for me what can I type into this tag, I searched for it's description, but had problems fining it.
