entry point to understand fop-source

Hi,

I would like to join the fop-development because I'm going to integrate the
fop-technology in our reporting-system. 

Now I'm looking for a good entry point (apache.org.fop...Driver looks like)
to get in touch with the sources. Did anyone paint a picture (f.ex. UML) I
can have a look at to understand it? Any suggestions how to proceed?
