Need help from a Maven 3 developer with a Site Plugin (?) issue

Hi

I've had a look at an issue that was created against Site Plugin
3.0-beta-1, http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MSITE-497

I would appreciate it if one of the developers familiar with the code of
Maven 3 could read my analysis, to help determine in which part of our
code the problem lies; Site Plugin, Javadoc Plugin or Maven Core.

In any case the project that is attached to the issue would make a nice
addition to the ITs.
