[jira] [Created] (CTAKES-98) update our OpenNLP wrappers- write to the cTAKES TypeSystem types just via configuration

Pei Chen created CTAKES-98:
------------------------------

Summary: update our OpenNLP wrappers- write to the cTAKES TypeSystem types just via configuration
                 Key: CTAKES-98
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CTAKES-98
             Project: cTAKES
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: ctakes-chunker, ctakes-core, ctakes-pos-tagger
    Affects Versions: 3.0-incubating
            Reporter: Pei Chen
             Fix For: 3.1-incubating

There's a feature in OpenNLP where it can write directly to our types via configuration. It should simplify our OpenNLP wrappers significantly.

                Chunker.xml

The OpenNLP descriptors with mapping on the ctakes type system. The model resource is not declared in the descriptors, they can either declared there or in an AAE descriptor.

Pei Chen commented on CTAKES-98:
--------------------------------

some sample type mapping descriptor xml:
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/opennlp/trunk/opennlp-uima/descriptors/PosTagger.xml?view=markup
This should save us some maintenance in maintaining custom code wrappers.
