Subject: [ANNOUNCE] Apache Fortress 2.0.4 Released

Apache Fortress is a computer security access management facility written in Java. Other platforms use the Apache Fortress Rest component. Fortress provides a fine-grained authorization security model using role-based access control semantics. It’s built to scale to many thousands of requests per second on top of a fault-tolerant backend using LDAP and runs in many production environments today.

Cool. I’ll post the announcement again.

This has been fixed. I don't know why, but it took a full day for the
production site to see my updates. Icons aren't anymore links.

Darn, still a no-go. More problems with links. I’ll have to check on this next week. (Might just let it go until next release).

*** Begin excerpt:

The binaries download page is still broken.

One of the icon links returns 404.

Another of the icons links to a different artifact from the related text
link on the same line.
(Mouse over the icon and then move to the right over the text. The URL
should not change.)

I suggest you remove the links from the icons as they are too error prone.
Or find some way of including the icon with the text so they share the same
single link.

Fixed.

I removed the links on icons (side note : this is present on LDAP API
and ApacheDS pages..). I guess that fixing the broken link would have
been enough.

Give it a bit of time for the main site to catch up with the update,
it's already ok on staging.

Emmanuel

Usually, what I do is that I push the updates on staging, and the
javadoc on prod, and wait before the announcement to be made to push the
site. Sadly, if someone else publish the site, you are screwed. There is
also something to check regarding the extpaths and .htaccess in this
very case, otherwise it's very possible that the javadoc gets removed
during a publish. Tricky...

Yes, very strange...

I'll fix that.

Thanks !

Hi Emmanuel. Thanks for your attention.

Yes, I did publish the website changes (before the vote closed), but did not publish the artifacts to maven or apache. Next time, I’ll wait until after the vote to publish the website changes.

Yes, this has been an ongoing issue with me and our website. If you click on the news, the latest. However, it doesn’t show on the landing page. I’ve yet to determine why this happens.

Another issue, sent via email, after the announcement:

*** Begin excerpt:
Sorry, but there is an issue with the binary download page.

Each archive has both a download icon with a link and separate a text
download link.
This is not ideal, as the links may be different.
In fact one of the icons has a broken link (fortress-realm-2.0.4.jar).

Please fix, and resubmit the announce email once this has been done and
checked.

Congrats, Shawn !

Two remarks :

AFAICT. Did you pushed the web site before ?

- there is a news missing on http://directory.apache.org/fortress/ for 2.0.4

otherwise, all is ok !
