   In retrospect i may not have needed to install ansible, i just did before i really understood the role the proxy machine played. 
   
   Yes,  I needed ssh-agent to be running on my local machine (where i cloned the muchos repo). 
   
   you may want to look at switch `#!/usr/bin/python2`  to `#!/usr/bin/env python2` to make sure you end up running with the expected python in virtual environments.
