  Sorry, does work.  Who has permission to access D: files?  (Including 
  directory listing privilage from the root of D: through the content
  directories, which is required for Apache to 'correct' the aliases and
  filename case.)  SYSTEM (e.g. LocalSystem)?  This is the default for
  the Apache service.  If you have changed the "Run as User"... option,
  that user better have list directory/read files privilage to the content.
