[jira] [Commented] (LUCENE-5054) Rename CharacterUtils impls Java5
vs Unicode5
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-5054?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13681185#comment-13681185 ]
Adrien Grand commented on LUCENE-5054:
--------------------------------------
I've been using Java4CharUtils for backwards compat. of the ngram filters that used to split in the middle of surrogate pairs although this has nothing to do with Java 4, so I think naming them after the unicode norm makes more sense. +1

> We named the CharacterUtils impls Java5 / Java4 but by now we don't support Java4 neither Java5 so I think it makes sense to rename them maybe to Unicode5CharacterUtils / Unicode4CharacterUtils?
